My Paintings

My subjects are usually landscape or townscapes. I like to paint scenes I have visited, and recently my work has been from Scarborough, Whitby, and also Liverpool. I have an interest in the West of America and I have visited there. I like to paint Red Indians or Native Americans, as they are now called. I work on a fairly large scale, and my paintings are about 75 x 60 cm.

My Education was at the West of England College of Art where I studied painting and specialised in design and illustration. I obtained the National Diploma of Design and also the Art Teachers Diploma.

I taught in a Grammar School in Norfolk in the early 1960s and then in a Taunton Somerset Comprehensive School for 30 years. In the last 20 years I have been a full-time artist taking commissions.

My Materials are gouache, watercolour or pen and ink. I have made many prints, some reproductions from my sketchbooks.
